A Season to Remember: QV Girls Finish 19-8
The 2025-2026 season was one for the books. Quaker Valley girls basketball finished 19-8 overall and 12-2 in Section 1-3A, earning a WPIAL playoff berth and advancing to the PIAA state tournament.
The Quakers averaged over 50 points per game while holding opponents to just 34.6. In the WPIAL playoffs, they defeated Keystone Oaks in the first round before falling to Seton LaSalle in the quarterfinals. The team bounced back with two consolation wins over Avonworth and OLSH to punch their ticket to states, where their season ended against Northwestern.
Senior Mimi Thiero capped a legendary career with 2,021 points, 1,340 rebounds, and 384 blocks, averaging 28.6 points and 15.7 rebounds per game in her final season. Sophomore Keira Watson emerged as a key contributor, averaging 10.6 points and 4.5 assists per game. Seniors Lucy Roig and Mia Flora provided steady leadership all year.
As Coach Ken Johns put it, watching this group grow as players and come together as a team made for a special season.
Thank you to every player, coach, family, and fan who made this year possible.
